I strongly recommend Gulsuma as a Kurmanji Kurdish language teacher. Because of the Kurdish language's history of cultural and political oppression, it is not easy to find a tutor who is particularly knowledgeable about grammar, but Gulsuma has studied in depth Kurdish and several other languages, and her classes are therefore "built" on very firm linguistic foundations. In other words, she is a linguist herself and she knows what she's doing! Gulsuma is also flexible and capable of accommodating each student's needs.

I would like to reccomend Gulsuma Demir as a teacher of Kurdish language. Gulsuma has a real talent for teaching. She can make hard grammar easy. She uses different materials for teaching and always finds new and relevant things to teach. She has a great knowledge of the current Kurdish culture and history and it makes the lessons with her a real pleasure! I strongly reccomend her as a teacher for Kurmanji.

I, like many other Kurds in the diaspora, began to answer my parents in another language when they spoke Kurdish to me. Over the years, my Kurmancî got worse because I did not practice it until I reached my twenties. Unfortunately, many Kurds have a habit of disgracing those who speak poor Kurdish and it does not help anyone who is already ashamed. I have studied two Kurmancî courses over a 5-month period now in a very positive and accepting environment. Although there are Kurmancî lessons in Sweden, I constantly recommend my friends and followers on my social media to contact to my teachers Gulê and Melîk at Kurdish Lessons. Spas ji bo her tiştî, mamosteyên min!

I was following Kurdish Lessons on social media for a long time. After studying on my own by watching Gulê’s Youtube videos for a while, I decided to take private lessons to take this issue more seriously. I have been taking courses since November 2022. I think it was a right decision because I started to study the Kurdish language in a more systematic and disciplined way. Gulê is always well-prepared and brings new materials to the lessons. This motivates me to make an effort. Extracurricular resources she recommends (videos, songs, texts or poems, podcasts, etc.) are helpful, too. My aim is to read and write in my mother language. So, until then I am planning to continue courses 🙂

Hello Gulê, I really want to thank your for these incredible courses. The sessions with Mêlik have been extremely informative and beneficial. I’ve seen significant improvement 💃🥰. Today marks the final session of this course, but I plan to take a break for a few weeks before reaching out to you again to continue the remaining sessions. Hay ji xwe hebe!
